Friends, Family, Former Co-Workers Gather to Remember Huisentruit, Seek Answers

Friends, family and former co-workers gathered in front of KIMT-TV in downtown Mason City Friday (06.27) morning on the 30th anniversary of the disappearance of anchor Jodi Huisentruit.

Investigators believe someone grabbed Huisentruit shortly after 4 AM on the morning of June 27, 1995, as she was going from her apartment in Mason City to the apartment parking lot.

Friday, Huisentruit’s family asked anyone that knows anything that could help solve the case to come forward.

Close friend Ani Kruse talked about spending time with Huisentruit in Iowa City, the weekend before her disappearance.

Kruse also hopes someone will step forward with the information to bring closure to the case.

If anyone has information about what happened to Huisentruit, call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636 or email Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation special agent Ryan Herman at [email protected]
