BREAKING: Crews on Scene of North Iowa Grain Elevator Fire

Crews are on the scene this morning of a fire at the Osage Co-op in Osage.

The Osage Fire Department is asking residents to stay away from the area of the elevator as crews attempt to get the fire of its dry fertilizer plant under control. Because power has been shut off to the facility, Osage Co-Op Elevator advises farmers and producers that they cannot accept grain at this time.

Unconfirmed reports indicate multiple semis, a payloader and a structure may have been lost or heavily damaged in the blaze that may have started around 8 am Saturday (Oct. 17) morning. At this time, there are no reports of any injuries.

The Osage Police Department also cautions: We know everyone is curious but please stay away from the area of the Osage Elevator while the fire department works on this incident.

We will bring you more information on the fire as it becomes available.
