Contest Rules

Eligibility

Contests are open to legal residents of Iowa, 18 years of age or older unless otherwise specified. Employees of participating radio stations, Achen Becker Media, LLC, and their immediate families, as well as employees of other broadcast stations, print media entities, event sponsors or advertisers, and their immediate families, are not eligible to win.

Winner Eligibility Frequency

• Only one winner per household is permitted every 30 days.
• Winners of prizes valued at $600 to $999 are not eligible to win again for 90 days.
• Winners of prizes valued at $1,000 or more are not eligible to win again for 365 days.

Prize value is determined by the radio station(s) at their sole discretion.

Claiming Prizes

Winners must appear in person at the participating station within 30 days of being contacted to claim prize(s) and must present valid legal identification. Prize claims must be made between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Prize winners who do not claim their prize within 30 days or prior to the expiration date will forfeit the prize(s).

Prizes will not be mailed or delivered. Any winner under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who will be required to sign for the prize.

Taxes & Required Paperwork

All prizes are subject to IRS 1099 tax reporting. Winners are responsible for any applicable federal, state, or local taxes associated with prize(s).

Winners must complete a W-9 form prior to receiving any monetary prize(s).

Waivers, Releases & Prize Substitutions

Participants may be required to execute an event participation waiver form at the sole discretion of the radio stations at any time from initial participation through delivery of the prize. Valid legal identification must be presented prior to signing any release form.

No cash equivalent will be awarded for any contest prize. Prize(s) may be substituted for a different prize of equal or greater value at the sole discretion of the participating radio station based on availability.

Station Responsibility

Participating radio stations and their affiliated companies are not responsible for any claims, liabilities, or damages arising out of or in connection with any prizes awarded. They are also not responsible for any malfunction of equipment, telephone systems, internet, or email during the contest. The radio station operator’s decision is final in all matters relating to the contest.

Concerts, Events & Meet-and-Greets

From time to time, the stations may work with concert promoters and venues throughout the listening area to provide opportunities to win tickets and, in some cases, meet performers backstage. These opportunities are subject to the sole discretion of the performer and the venue and may change at any time. The stations, promoters, and venues are not liable for any changes, including but not limited to time, location, format, procedures, or cancellation of events or meet-and-greet opportunities.

Use of Name, Voice & Likeness

All telephone calls to contest lines may be recorded and used on-air for promotional purposes. By participating in contests, you grant the radio stations the right to use your name, likeness, and voice in any media.

Emergencies, Odds & Streaming Delays

In the event of a local or national emergency, contests may be suspended or canceled at the discretion of station management.

Odds of winning depend on the number of participants in each contest. Contests are void where prohibited by law.

The radio stations retain sole discretion in all contest matters. If you are listening via an internet stream, programming delays may affect contest participation.

Specific Contest Rules Disclaimer

The above General Contest Rules may be amended, supplemented, or modified in whole or in part for specific events, contests, or station activities. The radio station(s) reserve the right to make such changes at any time. Specific Contest Rules will be made available as appropriate and will take precedence over these General Contest Rules where differences exist. Listeners and participants are encouraged to review all applicable rules prior to participation.
