Vets Knighten, Prichard Address Charles City Veterans Day Audience

Veterans addressed veterans, students and the public during Veterans Day ceremonies Monday (11.11) in Comet Gym at Charles City Middle School.
Charles City councilman and VFW Post #3914 Quartermaster Phil Knighten joined the U.S. Marine Corps out of high school in 1990.
Floyd County Attorney Todd Prichard was the keynote speaker. He joined the Army in 1996.
Prichard says they survived because of their discipline, taking care of their military equipment, wearing their protective gear, and being ready at all times. He says the time will also come for the younger generation to serve.
In addition to service members, Prichard also called on students to fill many other important roles, including teachers, doctors, lawyers, nurses, and construction workers.
Monday’s program was hosted and coordinated by the Charles City FFA.
