New Hampton to Install New Tornado Warning Siren

While it won’t be functional for the current severe weather season, New Hampton Mayor Bobby Schwickerath says the time has come for a new tornado siren that alerts citizens in the center of town.
The current tornado siren will remain active on top of City Hall until the new siren is in place, which Schwickerath says is yet to be determined.
Schwickerath says the new tornado siren should be functional by this November. Earlier this month, the New Hampton City Council approved the purchase of the new siren for about $25,000.
There are also tornado sirens located near the west and east ends of the city.
