Northeast Iowa Man Accused of Sexual Exploitation of a Female Minor

A Northeast Iowa man has been arrested on felony charges for alleged sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) says they received a report in August of a sexual encounter involving a juvenile and an adult male. Their investigation determined that, during the summer, 54-year-old  Daniel Patrick Liddiard of Waukon added a juvenile female as a contact on Snapchat and sent her sexually explicit photos and videos of himself and requested explicit photos from her. Liddiard also asked the juvenile to introduce him to her minor friends.

WCSO says, during the last week of July, Liddiard met with the juvenile in person at a location in Waukon, where he allegedly drove around with her, provided her with an adult erotic device, and touched her inappropriately.

Search warrants were executed for Liddiard’s electronic devices and their contents as part of the investigation, which led to his arrest on Monday (Oct. 19). Liddiard has been charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, a  Class B felony; grooming and sexual exploitation of a minor – possession of a visual depiction of a minor engaged in a prohibited sexual act, both Class D felonies, plus telephone dissemination of obscene material to minors, an aggravated misdemeanor.

He is being held without bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing October 30th in Allamakee County District Court.

WCSO was assisted in this investigation by the Iowa DCI, Waukon Police Department, Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Allamakee and Winneshiek County Attorneys Offices.
