Ionia Fireman’s Annual Fish Fry Friday (07.17) Night

The Ionia Fire Department will host its 65th “Annual Firemen’s Fish Fry” at the fire station from 4 to 8 pm Friday (07.17).

That’s Fire Chief Derek Day, who says the menu includes fish (pollock), plus potato salad, cole slaw, dinner roll and dessert for a $15 donation. The Fish Fry will be drive-thru carryout only, though picnic table-seating is available on the east side of the fire station.

Proceeds will go to help purchase new bunker gear.

Day says they’re always looking to add more volunteer firefighters to their crew.

With this dry, hot weather, Day says they’re alerting motorists to avoid parking a just-driven vehicle on dry grass.

And, while there are no burn bans in effect in the region, Day also encourages extreme caution with any outdoor burning, including fire pits.
