Applications Due Friday (Oct. 30) for North Butler/Clarksville School Shared Superintendent Post

The North Butler and Clarksville school districts have hired the same consultant that the Osage/Riceville and the Nashua-Plainfield/Tripoli school districts in their recruitment efforts to hire a new shared superintendent.
Last month, the North Butler and Clarksville School Boards voted not to renew the probationary administrator contract of Bryan Boysen, which expires at the end of the current school year on June 30, 2027. Boysen became the shared superintendent of the two districts on July 1, 2024, splitting his time about 60% at North Butler and 40% at Clarksville.
In a published statement, North Butler School Board President Ty Crawford-Miller said, “After those discussions (with Boysen), it was determined that it would be best for both districts and Mr. Boysen to move in a different direction next school year.”
Both district’s plan to continue their shared superintendent agreement, and have hired EDK Consulting, operated by former Waverly-Shell Rock Superintendent Ed Klamforth, to aid in their recruitment efforts at a cost of about $8,500.
Klamforth says applications are being accepted until October 30th, with candidate interviews currently targeted for the week of December 9th.
In the past year, EDK also helped the Osage and Riceville school districts hire Andy McQuillen as their shared superintendent, plus the Nashua-Plainfield and Tripoli school districts hire Tom Harskamp as their shared superintendent. Both McQuillen and Harskamp officially took over July 1st.
