Man Found Dead in North Iowa Park

Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a North Iowa park.
Mason City Police Chief Mike McKelvey says they received a report of an unresponsive adult male on the ground inside Lester Milligan Park along 15th Street Southwest, shortly after 1 PM Wednesday (07.08).
Officers arrived and located a deceased male near a vehicle in the gravel parking lot.
Mason City Fire medics and the Cerro Gordo County Medical Examiner were also dispatched to the scene. The decedent has been identified as 47-year-old Bradley Johnson of Spirit Lake. McKelvey says Johnson’s family has been notified.
Investigators from the Mason City Police Department and the Medical Examiner’s Office have processed the scene. There is no indication of any threat to the public, and no additional individuals are believed to be involved.
McKelvey says the State Medical Examiner’s Office will do an autopsy to determine Johnson’s cause of death.
This incident remains under investigation, with no further information to be released at this time.
