Chickasaw County Sheriff Alerts Residents to Seal Coating Scam

The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is alerting citizens to a seal coating scam.
A department social media post notes that they have “been informed of individuals operating a suspected seal coating scam in both Chickasaw and Bremer counties. The individuals are reportedly traveling in a white Ford F-150 pulling a trailer and a white Jeep with Texas license plates.”
The notification adds, “They are going door-to-door offering seal coating services, similar to dust control or asphalt maintenance.”
If you’re approached by someone fitting this description, CCSO advises asking these important questions:
*Can I get everything in writing?
*What is your payment policy?
*Do you offer a written notice of cancellation?
*What is your start and completion date?
*Do you have a local reference?
If you feel you’ve been targeted by these scammers, contact the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office at 641-394-3121 and press Option 2.
