New Hampton Police Department Losing Another Officer

The New Hampton Police Department will soon be in the market to fill not one, but two officer positions.
During Monday’s (05.18) Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors meeting, Chickasaw County Sheriff Ryan Shawver announced they will hire NHPD Officer Jace Hall to fill an upcoming deputy vacancy.
Hall will be a full-time deputy, a position that will open with the resignation of Deputy/Jail Administrator Jordan Gansen, effective June 1st.
Hall will begin working for the Sheriff’s Office June 2nd, The County will also buy out Hall’s contract with the City of New Hampton for just over $13,000, which Shawver also includes Hall’s ballistic vest.
The pending departure of Hall means NHPD will have two officer vacancies, with Chief Conrad Rosendahl parting ways with Officer Cory Frank from the staff two weeks ago.
Frank suffered a back injury last July and has been unable to return to full duty ever since. He had back surgery in February and was anticipated back by May 1st. However, on May 4th, he told the New Hampton City Council he needed an additional six-to-eight weeks off, due to changes in his medical restrictions.
Rosendahl said those restrictions, combined with no definite timeline for Frank to return to full duty, if at all, he had to let Frank go, doing so on May 5th. Still, Rosendahl says Frank is welcome to reapply with the NHPD if and when he’s 100% medically cleared and a position is open.
NHPD has been advertising to accept applications to fill Frank’s position. Now they’re taking applications (plural), with Hall set to join the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office in a couple of weeks.
