Saint Patrick’s Parade in Charles City Will Go On Saturday (03.14)

The 33rd “First Ever” Saint Patrick’s Parade will go on at 1 pm Saturday (03.14) in downtown Charles City.

That’s organizer Tonya Nosbisch, who tells KCHA/KCZE, “We will be marching on, rain, snow or shine; no fair weather Irishmen & women here!! We are praying to the Saints & banking on our Irish luck that the weather holds out until the parade ends.”

As of Thursday (03.12), Nosbisch expected 10 to 15  parade entrants to line up at Hot Shots at 12:45 pm Saturday afternoon.

Spectators are encouraged to come out and watch the parade, even if its from your vehicles, with Nosbisch adding, “Please join us to celebrate before hibernating the remainder of the weekend.”

Deb Carolan has been named Miss Shamrock for the parade, which will start and end at Hot Shots. Though Nosbisch notes there will be Saint Patty’s deals at various establishments across Charles City on Saturday.
