Northeast Iowa Woman Accused of Putting Drugs in Lasagna, Faces Felony Charges

A northeast Iowa woman is facing a half-dozen felony charges after she was accused of lacing a family-sized pan of lasagna with a controlled substance.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), along with other agencies, launched an investigation in January 2026 after receiving reports of the tainted lasagna, which was delivered to another family on December 28, 2025. The lasagna was confirmed to contain oxycodone, a Schedule II narcotic, according to testing by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory.

The investigation revealed that the lasagna was intended to induce a miscarriage in a pregnant woman who was unaware of the plan. 36-year-old Amber Snow of Decorah and another individual were identified as co-conspirators, with evidence allegedly found in electronic communications and search histories.

A warrant for Snow’s arrest was issued on Monday (03.09). On Tuesday (03.10), WCSO took Snow into custody on charges that include delivering a controlled substance, a Class C felony; attempted termination of a human pregnancy without consent, and four counts of administering harmful substances, all Class D felonies. Snow also faces one count of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.

She is currently held in the Winneshiek County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

WCSO says the investigation is ongoing, with further charges and arrests expected.
