City of New Hampton Asks Residents to Keep Fire Hydrants Clear of Snow

The City of New Hampton is again asking residents for their help with snow removal.
Street Superintendent Kyle Anderson is reminding those who have a fire hydrant in their yard to move the snow surrounding the hydrant. It should be cleared three feet in all directions around the hydrant.
During an emergency, the time it takes to get a water supply to fight a fire is crucial and could affect life and property safety. Anderson notes that it could be the difference between a bad deal and total loss.
The City also thanks those who have already cleared out their fire hydrant or assisted a neighbor.
