Dale Danielson, 84, of Floyd

Dale Danielson, 84, of Floyd, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025.

A funeral service for Dale Danielson will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City with Pastor Intern Beth Hurt from St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the start of the service on Saturday.

Dale LeRoy Danielson was born June 16, 1941, in Charles City, Iowa—the son of Leone “Leona” Obermeier and Fred Danielson. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1959. In time, he met Sharon “Cherie” Logan. They married October 25, 1963, and shared 50 wonderful years together before her passing in 2013. In 2015, Dale reconnected with childhood classmate Nona Cummings. They shared a very special bond until his passing.

From an early age, Dale honed his passion for building—like the metal he expertly machined during 20 years at Oliver/White Farm Equipment, or his house he designed, framed, wired and plumbed himself. When the factory closed, Dale took his talents to Floyd County Conservation until a work-related back injury ended his time there. So, he carved his own path—Dale’s Landmark Service—his thriving landscaping and winter snow removal business.

Some saw Dale driving his snowplow before dawn—clearing paths for others. Some saw his inventive spirit and many mechanical breakthroughs he could have patented. Others saw him cruising in his classic, white Corvette that he restored. But all who met Dale knew him as a leader in life—straightforward, honest, independent, dependable and quick to smile … a man—and friend—for every season of life.

Living family members include his son, Dave (Jana) in Omaha; grandson, Ryan (Madi and great grandsons Wiliam, Benjamin and Noah) in Des Moines; grandson, John (Allison) in Des Moines; and sister, Shereen (Steve) in Colorado.

He was preceded in passing by his wife, Cherie, his parents and brother, Randy.

Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home, (641) 228-2323, 1205 South Main Street, Charles City, Iowa 50616 is in charge of local arrangements.  Online condolences may be left on the Tribute Wall for the family at www.hauserfh.com.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
