Work for Charles City PD/City Hall Renovation Project Moves Indoors

Work to renovate and remodel City Hall and the police department in Charles City has moved indoors with onset of winter weather.

Before crews switched gears, Mayor Dean Andrews says much of the expansion of the parking lot to the north of City Hall was completed.

Andrews says upcoming inside work includes making the building more handicap accessible.

Making the entire building “accessible” for staff to move back in is still about six months away.

While they await completion of the some-$4.5 million project, City staff continues to work out of temporary quarters at 507 Clark Street, with the CCPD making 623 Beck Street their interim home base.
