Early Voting for Turkey Valley/New Hampton School Board Candidates Vital for Write-In Campaigns

Early voting is likely take on more value for some school board candidates.
Due to nomination papers being turned in to the Chickasaw County Auditor’s Office after the submission deadline of noon September 9th, all candidates seeking election and/or re-election to the New Hampton and Turkey Valley school boards will NOT get their names on the ballots and must conduct write-in campaigns.
Seats up for election on the Turkey Valley School Board include those currently held by Katie Stika and Board President Don Blazek. Both are seeking re-election.
New Hampton School Board seats up for election include those held by Timothy Denner, Adam Schwickerath, and Ryan Shawver. All seeking re-election. Also running for New Hampton School Board is Kayla Smith, who also must conduct a write-in campaign after she filed her nomination papers directly with the Chickasaw County Auditor’s Office, which was not the correct procedure. Thus, her name will also not appear on the ballot.
Positions up for election on the Charles City School Board include those currently held by David Schrodt, Josh Mack and Kathryn Fox. All are seeking re-election, with Steve Boucher also throwing his hat in the ring.
In addition to school board elections, also up for vote is a $30 million bond referendum in the Charles City School District, a $16.5 million bond referendum in the Sumner-Fredericksburg School District, and a PPEL levy vote in the North Butler School District.
