Missing North Iowa Teen Located, Safe

After nine days of her whereabouts being unknown, a missing teen with north Iowa connections has been located and is safe.
The family of 14-year-old Alexis Kostka posted a social media update at 8 pm Tuesday (10.14) that Des Moines Police officers recognized her on the street and took her in.
Prior to that, the family had not seen Alexis since October 5th after she had left a mental/behavioral health facility in Cedar Rapids without permission.
The family had asked everyone to be on the look out for Alexis; especially the towns of Charles City, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines, where she was finally located.
The teen was also reported missing late last month. At that time, she was last seen in Cedar Rapids and located a short time later about an hour away.
