Two Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Marshalltown

Waverly Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a vehicle stolen from the Waverly Hy-Vee parking lot on the morning of Sunday, September 7.

According to Waverly Police, officers were called after a victim reported his vehicle had been taken while he was inside the store. Surveillance video from Hy-Vee showed two suspects entering the vehicle and leaving the scene.

Police later located the vehicle in Marshalltown, where the suspects were arrested.

The suspects, identified as Brandon Michael Peshel, 41, and Jessica Ann Marie Shadlow, 35, both of Waverly, are charged with Theft in the 2nd Degree, a Class D felony. They were transported back to Bremer County Jail for an initial appearance before a magistrate.

Authorities report that Peshel remains in custody, facing additional charges related to a probation violation. Shadlow was released on bond and her promise to appear in court at a later date.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
