Northeast Iowa Authorities Pull Deceased Wisconsin Man from Mississippi River

Authorities in northeast Iowa are investigating Friday’s (08.22) discovery of a male body in the Mississippi River.

According to the Lansing Police Department, a 63-year-old Wisconsin man was found deceased in the Mississippi near S&S Houseboat Rentals in Lansing. Emergency responders, including Lansing Emergency Medical Services, and the Lansing Fire Department, recovered the body early Friday morning.

The man was unresponsive when he was pulled from the river and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s name is being withheld until his family is informed. An investigation by the Lansing Police Department continues, but no foul play is suspected.

The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
