Northeast Iowa Man Dies After Being Struck By Truck

A northeast Iowa man is dead after he was struck by a pickup.
According to the Iowa State Patrol (ISP) crash report, 62-year-old Ricky Thurn of Edgewood was standing at the driver’s side door of a UTV parked on Glacier Road (about 10 miles east of Strawberry Point) when he was hit by the pickup truck just after 5 pm Monday (08.11).
ISP says a second UTV was parked alongside Thurn’s UTV, with two other people also injured during the accident. They were taken by ambulance to MercyOne Hospital in Elkader with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the pickup, 56-year-old Perry Peterson of Manchester, was also injured and transported by Gunderson Air to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
The accident is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
