The Ionia Fire Department is getting ready to host its “Annual Firemen’s Fish Fry.”
Fire Chief Derek Day says the menu includes fish, potato salad, cole slaw, dinner roll and dessert, served from 4 to 8 pm Friday (07.18) night for a $15 donation, with proceeds going to help the fire department replace some aging equipment.
They’re also looking to add more volunteer firefighters to their crew, which Day says currently stands at 21 members, but they could use three or four more.
The Fish Fry will be drive-thru or carryout only, with picnic table seating available on the east of the Ionia fire station.
Day says they expect to feed a sizable crowd that has grown over the 68 years of the event.
