According to the agreement, Diers will have an annual salary of $172,000, which, after a six-month satisfactory performance period, will increase to $177,000 on January 1, 2026. His first day on the job will be July 7th.

Meanwhile, also on Monday night, the Charles City City Council met, voting to accept Diers’ resignation with the City of Charles City.

Mayor Dean Andrews wished Diers well.

Diers’ last official day of employment as City Administrator for Charles City will be July 4th, with his last day in the office on June 20th.

The City is looking at hiring a search firm to find his successor.
