Spring Hunters Ed Classes Chickasaw/Floyd Counties Coming Soon
Springtime means hunter education time.
Chickasaw County Conservation will host a certification course this Saturday (03.15) at the Fredericksburg Sportsmans Club.
That’s Chickasaw County Naturalist Matt Crayne, who says registration for the class must be done online through the Iowa DNR. Then, be ready to make a day of it.
Floyd County Conservation Naturalist Heidi Reams says they will host a Hunter’s Education course on Saturday, March 22nd at the Fossil and Prairie Center, just west of Rockford.
As of 8 am Thursday (03.13), 40 of 50 available slots were filled for this Saturday’s Hunters Ed class in Chickasaw County, with 31 of 36 slots filled for the March 22nd course in Floyd County.

Iowa law requires that anyone born after January 1, 1972 must be certified in hunter education before they are eligible to purchase an Iowa hunting license.
