The Charles City Mobile Food Pantry normally distributes food to those in need on the first Wednesday of the month.
However, since the first Wednesday of January 2025 was New Year’s Day, organizer Jen Burton says distribution has been rescheduled for this Thursday (01.09). The new date was offered by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, which she confirmed after first calling to make sure their regular distribution home, the Floyd County Fairgrounds, was available.
Burton says the number of households for drive-thru distribution of food each month is between 300 and 330 households. They’re also serving more with a growing delivery network.
Burton says she didn’t see that coming.
Again, drive-thru distribution for the Charles City Food Pantry is from 5 to 6 pm Thursday (01.09) at the Floyd County Fairgrounds.
