Miller to Become New Floyd County Auditor

Republican Morrigan Miller defeated Democrat Liz Hamm Tuesday (in the race for Floyd County Auditor.

Miller garnered 60% of the ballots to 40% for Hamm to replace current County Auditor Gloria Carr, who was set to retire when her term ends December 31st.  Instead, Carr will continue to serve the County as the new District 1 Supervisor, with current Supervisor Mark Kuhn not seeking re-election.

Carr is very familiar with the transition to bring in new supervisors.

While Carr will wait until January to assume her new role, Boyd Campbell will replace Jim Jorgensen next week as the new District 3 Supervisor. Because Jorgensen was appointed to the post and opted not to run for re-election, Campbell, who was unopposed in the election, will take over after results are canvassed.

District 2 Supervisor Dennis Keifer is the lone holdover on the Board.

Also Tuesday, Floyd County Sheriff Jeff Crooks won re-election, running unopposed.
