House District 58 State Representative Candidates Concerned with AEA, Pipelines

Candidates for the District 58 seat in the Iowa House have similar concerns over key issues.

Incumbent Charley Thomson, a Republican, says the Summit carbon pipeline remains a priority.

Challenger, Democrat Gail Allison, agrees, but also acknowledges the importance of expanding markets for corn farmers.

Thomson and Allison also have concerns about legislation that reshaped the operations of area education agencies.

Thomson says he would also like to see the measure revisited in the next legislative session.

Thomson and Allison made their comments to KCHA/KCZE news while they participated in a candidate “Meet and Greet” event hosted by the Charles City Chamber of Commerce October 23rd at the Charles City Public Library.

House District 58 includes all of Chickasaw County and most of Floyd County, with the exception of Rockford and Rock Grove township in the northwest corner of the county which is part of House District 60.
