North Iowa Man Killed After Being Hit by Vehicle in Minnesota

A North Iowa man is dead after apparently being struck by a vehicle just across the Iowa-Minnesota border over the weekend, with a southeast Minnesota man arrested in connection with the incident.
The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office says it got a 911 call around shortly before 12:30 am Sunday (08.04) morning about a person possibly being hit by a vehicle on County Road 30, east of Granger. At the scene, deputies say they found 23-year-old Cale Jackson of Cresco lying dead in the road.
An initial investigation indicated Jackson had been hit by a vehicle, with 50-year-old Brian Nelson of Harmony arrested at the scene for allegedly being the driver of the vehicle that struck Jackson.
Nelson is being held without bond in the Fillmore County Jail, on a charge of criminal vehicular homicide. Authorities also suspect Nelson was driving while intoxicated and a sample of his blood will be tested for alcohol content.
