Charles City Flooding Update 10 AM Sunday (06.23)

Below is audio from the latest Charles City flooding update from City Administrator Steve Diers, provided at 10 am Sunday (06.23) morning via Facebook Live from Floyd County Iowa Emergency Management Agency.
Highlights:
*River expected to crest at 20.5 feet at around 7 am Monday (06.24) morning (down from the 22.5 feet predicted early Saturday/06.22)
*Brantingham Bridge remains open at this time, but is being monitored closely as water levels rise
*The filling of sandbags has been suspended for the time being. Sandbags are still available for pickup if you need them.
*For sandbags or to report any damages of concerns with flooding, call the Emergency Operations Center at 641-257-6172
*MidAmerican Energy has alerted customers if they are in the “impact zone” for possible gas shutoffs. Currently, shutoffs only done at customer request
*Next update scheduled for 7 pm Sunday night
