First Impacts to be Felt with $40 Million FCMC Expansion, Remodeling Project

Impacts of a $40 million expansion and remodeling project at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City will become noticeable for patients and visitors starting next week.
CEO Dawnette Willis says FCMC’s Admissions/Outpatient parking lot and entrance will be closing permanently beginning Monday, June 24th. Patients/visitors are directed to use the main entrance (Rotunda) from Monday until further notice for the services outlined below.Â
Auxiliary volunteers will be stationed at the (Rotunda/Main) entrance to help patients/visitors with wayfinding. Signage will also be posted on the street corner of Main and 11th streets to direct patients/visitors to this entrance and parking.
Willis adds that the Emergency Room, Urgent Care, FCMC Family Practice Clinic, Speech and Occupational Therapy locations, entrances and parking will NOT be impacted by the changes starting Monday.

The front & side parking lot highlighted in light blue on the attached map will be designated for patient/visitor parking for hospital patients and visitors seeking inpatient and outpatient healthcare for the following services:
