Presidential Hopeful Ramaswamy Addresses Supporters in Charles City

Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy made several stops in northeast Iowa Thursday (12.07).

An entrepreneur who founded a pharmaceutical company, Ramaswamy addressed a crowd of about 40 people at Pizza Ranch in Charles City, noting he’s not a member of the Washington, DC establishment.

In addition to national issues, Ramaswamy spoke against carbon capture pipelines like the one being proposed by Summit Carbon Solutions.

He added that the carbon pipelines are an example of corrupt, special interest projects that often prevail in Washington.

Ramaswamy said he’s the only candidate who can speak out on things the Washington establishment doesn’t want talked about and he’d rather lose the election telling the truth than not be real with voters.

Ramaswamy also made stops Thursday in Howard County at Fat T’s in Cresco and in Chickasaw County at Klunder’s Kafe in New Hampton.

**More stops Tuesday (12.12):

Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy is scheduled to make another handful of town hall stops in north and northeast Iowa Tuesday.

Ramaswamy is slated to start the day in Worth County at the Northwood Public Library Tuesday at 10 am, followed by a visit to Mitchell County at the American Legion in Osage at 11:45 am.  Then it’s on to Allamakee County to Lid’s Bar and Grill in Waukon at 2 pm.

Ramaswamy’s political push Tuesday in advance of the Iowa Caucuses also includes a stop in Clayton County at Johnson’s Restaurant in Elkader at 4 pm followed by a visit toDelaware County at Pizza Ranch in Manchester at 6 pm.  He’ll round out his schedule Tuesday night in Buchanan County at The Crowbar in Independence at 7:30 pm.

The latest NBC News/Mediacom/Des Moines Register poll shows Ramaswamy in fourth place in the Republican caucus race at 5%. Former President Donald Trump continues to pace ahead of the pack at 51% with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis second with 19% and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley at 16%.
