Charles City received about an inch of snow Saturday (11.25) night into Sunday (11.26). Not enough to activate the City’s snow ordinances, but the snowfall does bring some reminders.
When the amount of snowfall warrants, Charles City Police Chief Hugh Anderson says vehicles must be off the street to allow City street crews to clear snow in a timely fashion.
Violators could be subject to towing, but Anderson says you’ll get a warning for starters.
Anderson adds that the City would prefer not to have to tow your vehicle and avoid the hassle for all involved.
Anderson also reminds citizens that vehicles must also be moved in municipal parking lots to allow crews to move snow. Once an area is cleared, vehicles should then be moved to the cleared area. Â
