Five Star Cooperative Breaks Ground on New North Iowa Facility

Five Star Cooperative, with farmer-owned agricultural cooperatives across 14 counties, has begun construction of a new modern agronomy complex about 10 miles southwest of Mason City.

During recent groundbreaking ceremonies at Burchinal site, Tom Black, CEO of the New Hampton-based company, said building the facility is the culmination of a journey that was forced upon the company about 15 months ago.

Black also noted that Burchinal is the perfect place to rebuild what was lost.

The new Burchinal facility represents the largest single investment in Five Star’s long history, and Black says construction is scheduled to be completed to have the site operational in the spring of 2024.
