“Untold Stories of Riverside Cemetery†in Charles City are being revealed thanks for Charles City middle schoolers.
Emily Van Soelen, 8th grade language arts teacher at Charles City Middle School, says the student project was a collaborative effort between her class and social studies class, led by fellow 8th grade teacher, Ryan Rahmiller.
Van Soelen says the public is invited to check out the untold stories first-hand when students host an open house this Monday (05.15) from noon to 2 pm at Riverside Cemetery.
In recent years, Charles City 8th graders have also raised over $40,000 for renovations to the cemetery chapel, now 116-years-old.
