Outdoor Activity Ramps up This Weekend for Floyd County Conservation

Outdoor activity ramps up this weekend for the Floyd County Conservation department.

Naturalist Heidi Reams says County campgrounds open for the season on Friday (05.05) and the Fossil and Prairie Center just west of Rockford will open the season on Saturday (05.06). Center hours will be from 1 to 4 pm Saturdays and Sundays for weekends in May, while the park itself is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.

Reams says they’ll also host an Open House at the Tosanak Recreation Area northwest of Marble Rock from 1 to 4 pm Sunday (05.07).

Reams adds there will also be wagon rides for wildflower sightseeing tours on Sunday.
