Charles City Senior Center Hosts “A Day To Remember” 1968 Tornado

The Charles City Senior Center will host “A Day to Remember” to reminisce about the city’s infamous tornado of May 15, 1968.

Judy Hauser says the public is invited to the Senior Center this May 15th to “COME SHARE YOUR MEMORIES” of that eventful day. 

Hauser notes that those sharing stories on Monday, May 15th will receive their noon meal of lasagna, green beans, bread stick and dessert that day at the Senior Center free of charge. 

Those interested in sharing are asked to reserve your time and meal by Friday, May 12th.  The public is welcome to come listen, whether or not you stay for the noon meal.

This coming Monday, May 8th, Hauser says the public can listen to the Charles City High School Chamber Choir perform at 11 am.

Hauser says Tuesday Bingo Nights continue at the center with early bird play at 6:30 pm and regular bingo at 7 pm.

*Please call Judy Hauser (641-330-1975) or Charlotte Nehls (319-230-1049) by Friday, May 12th to reserve a time and your meal. All are welcome to come listen. We hope you stay to eat as well. A nominal donation of $5 is suggested for the meal. Call 641-228-3114 by Friday, May 12th for meal reservations. Everyone is encouraged to continue to share stories during the meal and after as they wish.
