Dropoff Spring Cleanup Continues Through Saturday for Charles City Residents

Spring Cleanup for Charles City residents is continues through this Saturday.

Each eligible household in the city can drop off and dispose of one truckload of discarded items at the Shaw Avenue dump site. Dropoff hours are 9 am to 7 pm weekdays through Friday and from 7 am to 7 pm this Saturday. A copy of your utility bill or similar proof of residency is required at dropoff..

City Administrator Steve Diers says the City is also again accepting tires for disposal.

Diers says the City has again lined up the Charles City Lions and Rotary Clubs, plus Charles City High School wrestlers and football players to help residents with hauling items away.

The City’s contracted sanitation company, Jendro, can also pick up bulky items like couches during the Spring Cleanup dates, but Diers notes there will be an extra fee associated for the service.
