Charles City Man Arrested on Narcotics Distribution Charges

A Charles City man is facing various narcotics charges following his arrest last week.

The Charles City Police Department says 32-year-old Lentenze Farris was taken into custody Friday (04.21) morning in the 1000 block of South Grand Avenue on two Floyd County arrest warrants for controlled substance violations.

According to the criminal complaints, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant for narcotics distribution at the Hometown Inn on April 13th. Discovered and seized were multiple illegal controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and items associated with delivery of controlled substances, plus two prescription pill bottles that did not belong to Farris.

Authorities say Farris resides in and/or occupies three of the rooms at the motel and he was present in one of the rooms at the time of the search. A warrant for his arrest was issued the following day.

Charges against Farris include a controlled substance violation and gathering where controlled substances are used, both Class D felonies, and unlawful possession of prescription drugs, a serious misdemeanor.

Farris was being held in the Floyd County Jail on $11,000 cash-only bond.

Court records show Farris was convicted for possession of methamphetamine in 2019.
