13th Charles City Rotary Radio Auction Donates Over $3K to Central Preschool

For the second year in a row, Charles City Rotary Club’s annual KCHA Radio Auction donated half of the proceeds to a non-profit organization.

This year’s auction raised almost $6,800, with half going to Central Preschool, presented this week with a check of over $3,300.

Rotary’s Tammy Elthon says creating partnerships with groups like Central Preschool helps get more people involved in collecting auction items as well as more diversity of items.

Last year, the Rotary partnered with TLC. But while that was also a kid-centered recipient, Elthon says they never ask kids to solicit auction items.

In all, Elthon says the radio auction has raised almost $80,000 over the years for various community projects throughout Charles City.

Elthon says they welcome suggestions for next year’s auction partner and those interested can contact any Rotary Club member.
