Nashua-Plainfield Voters to Decide $3 Million Bond Referendum Tuesday

Voters in the Nashua-Plainfield School District will weigh in at the polls Tuesday on a $3 million bond referendum to pay for a new baseball/softball complex at the former Plainfield school site.

Superintendent Todd Liechty says passing the bond referendum allows the district more flexibility to finance the project.

The Huskies softball team has played their games in Plainfield for several years, while the baseball team has played their games in Nashua at the ball diamonds owned by the Big Four Fair.

Liechty says having a combined complex to host baseball and softball will be advantageous to fans and families.

In addition to the new high school baseball field and relocated softball fields, the complex will also have a new concession stand to replace the building destroyed by a tree blown down during a storm two years ago. New youth baseball/softball fields would also be added.

The bond needs a 60% majority of YES votes to pass.
