Charles City Public Library Reopening Delayed Again

The Charles City Public Library will not reopen Monday (03.06).

The library has been closed since February 7th while new tile flooring is being installed in the lobby. The original plan called for the project to be completed for the library to reopen February 24th. However, delays have continued to postpone the reopening.

Library Director Annette Dean says they will not reopen Monday and a set date to reopen is not known at this time. With the reopening in limbo, the open house that was planned for Tuesday has been postponed.

Dean adds that the library will continue to offer curbside pickup Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm for patrons who put books on reserve. The stuffed animal sleepover program in the Zastrow room Tuesday afternoon is also still on. The deadline for all materials currently checked out is extended to this Saturday, March 11th.

More details are available on the Charles City Public Library Facebook page and the library website (link below).
