Law Enforcement Agencies to Offer ALICE Training in New Hampton

The New Hampton Police Department and Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office will host an ALICE ActiveShooter Response Training program this summer.

ALICE stands for “alert, lockdown, inform, counter, evacuate” in the event of an active shooter situation, which NHPD Chief Zach Nosbisch says has become too common in schools and businesses across the country. Thus, training isn’t just for law enforcement.

Nosbisch says training is scheduled for July 10th and 11th at the New Hampton Middle School, where hallways can provide a “real world” environment for active shooter scenarios.

Nosbisch says those who go through the program will become ALICE certified to take their knowledge and training back to their respective school, business or organization.

More information, including a link to register, can be found on the New Hampton Police Department Facebook page.
