ISU Extension “Women Managing Farmland” Thursday at Floyd County Fairgrounds

Farmland leases, land stewardship and farm transitions are among the topics to be covered in the course-series, “Women Managing Farmland: Today and Tomorrow,” starting this week in Charles City.

ISU Extension and Outreach Farm and Agribusiness Management Specialist Melissa O’Rourke says more women than ever are in control of farmland in Iowa.

O’Rourke says, while women have always played an important role in farming, a variety of factors have changed their role.

O’Rourke says “Women Managing Farmland” is also a great networking opportunity.

The first of four Thursday evening courses is this Thursday, March 2nd, in the Youth Enrichment Center at the Floyd County Fairgrounds; with a meal at 5 pm and program from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.

For more information and to register, contact the Floyd County Extension Office in Charles City.
