Charles City Elementary Principal Tabbed Director of Teaching & Learning at Oskaloosa Schools

CCharles City Lincoln Elementary School Principal Marcia DeVore has been tabbed as the next director of teaching and learning for Oskaloosa Community Schools.

DeVore has served as principal of Lincoln Elementary since 2013. She will be joining the Oskaloosa School District, now led by former Charles City Superintendent Mike Fisher, who left Charles City after four years to take the same position in his hometown last July 1st.

In a statement, DeVore said, “My family and I are excited to be part of Oskaloosa Schools and the larger Oskaloosa community. Accepting this position was not just about a good career fit for me, but also a good school fit for our son and a community fit for our family. Oskaloosa checked all the boxes.”

Fisher said, “We are delighted to welcome Marcia to the Osky Schools family. I am confident her leadership expertise and wealth of experience will provide immense value to our schools and the students we serve.”

DeVore will relocate to Oskaloosa with her husband, Justin, former Director of Communications for Charles City Schools. Their son, Jonah, an eighth-grader at Charles City Middle School, will begin attending Oskaloosa High School this fall. Their daughter, Hannah, is a senior at Charles City High School, with plans to attend college in the fall.
