Charles City, Floyd County Closer to Communications & Marketing Partnership

The Charles City School District along with the City of Charles City, the Charles City Area Development Corporation (CCADC) and Floyd County are closer to entering a partnership to share in compensating and creating a joint communications and marketing position.

The Board of Supervisors this week approved their participation in which the County will contribute just over $5,000 for school district Communications Director Justin DeVore to coordinate online video streaming of various functions for all four entities.

Charles City Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Anne Lundquist addressed Supervisors’ concerns about how to determine which events get air time on the Public Access Network (PAN).

The CCADC will contribute the same monetary amount as the County for the position, with the City kicking in about $10,000 and the school district paying about $20,000.

While Mayor Dean Andrews was part of the presentation to Supervisors, the City Council has not yet met to officially approve their participation.

The initial partnership calls for a six-month trial basis.
