Charles City Fire Chief Whipple Down to Final Day on Job

After 10 years at the helm, Wednesday marks the final day on the job for Charles City Fire Chief Eric Whipple.

Whipple’s resignation was announced in late September and comes after over two decades in public service positions in Charles City.

Whipple will become the new Emergency Management Director for Cerro Gordo County and is scheduled to start his new job on November 14th.

Whipple says the position will still put him in regular contact with fire departments and emergency personnel , but in a new role and may still include working with agencies in Floyd County depending on the circumstances.
