Charles City Fall Leaf Pickup Begins Monday (Oct. 26)

The Charles City Street Department is getting ready for fall leaf pickup.

Street crews will be making one round trip through town next week to pick up leaves starting this Monday (Oct. 26).

Residents are asked to rake leaves into the street, 18-to-24 inches away from the curb. This keeps storm sewer intakes clear and allows rainwater to flow properly.

The leaf pick up route will start on the west end of town, work north to the avenues, then back to the south to Clark Street and to the south side of the river.

The City also reminds residents that Shaw Avenue Compost Site is open for your convenience.

Please call City Hall at (641) 257-6300 with any questions.
