Help Shape the Future of Charles City: Your Voice Matters!

Public input is being sought on what would you’d like Charles City to be like in the next 5-to-10 years.

The Main Street Charles City program, in conjunction with Main Street Iowa, has launched a community input survey aimed at gathering valuable feedback from residents and business/building owners alike. The survey will help shape the strategic plan for the local Main Street program and others, as they try to meet the needs and aspirations of the community.

Community Development Director Mark Wicks says, “We encourage everyone to participate and share their thoughts on how we can improve and revitalize our community in general, and more specifically our downtown district.”

Wicks, also director of the Charles City Area Chamber of Commerce, adds, “We believe that the best way to create a vibrant and thriving downtown district is by involving the community in the planning process. Your feedback is crucial in helping us define a strategic plan that reflects the community’s vision and priorities.”

Following the survey, a Community Town Hall will be held on Tuesday, November 10th, at 6 PM in the Zastrow River Room of the Charles City Public Library. This public session will provide an opportunity for members of the community to hear about the survey results and offer further input on the direction and priorities they would like to see for Charles City.
