Driver Seriously Injured After His Car Strikes Semi Trailer In North Iowa

One person was seriously injured after his car collided with a semi trailer in North Iowa over the weekend.

The Iowa State Patrol says the wreck occurred at about 8 PM Saturday (Oct. 17) night, about five miles east of Osage. A semi, operated by 50-year-old David Calloway of Indianapolis, was turning west onto Highway 9 from northbound Highway 218, when a Toyota Camry, driven by 43-year-old Joseph Anderegg of Osage, struck the rear of its trailer.

Osage firefighters extricated Anderegg from his car, with Osage Ambulance EMS personnel providing initial care, before MercyOne Air Med transported him to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

ISP continues to investigate the crash, with assistance from the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office.

Also responding to the scene was the Osage Police Department and Chatfield’s Towing.
