DOT Seeks Public Input on Iowa 57 Improvements in Butler County

The Iowa DOT is seeking public input on a planned north Iowa road improvement project.

The DOT says Iowa 57, from County Road T47 east to the Grundy County line in Butler County, is targeted for upgrades that include:

  • Removing and replacing the existing pavement.
  • Place centerline and edge line rumble strips.
  • Replace crossroad culverts.

During construction, traffic will be detoured using County Roads T55 and D17 and Iowa 14.  Construction is expected to start in Spring 2028 and end in Fall 2028.

To share your feedback in person, the DOT will host an Open House from 5 to 6:30 PM Tuesday (Oct. 6) at City Hall in New Hartford.

During the session, you’ll be provided with information about the project, and you can talk through the project with DOT staff. There will be no formal presentation. The meeting space is accessible for people with disabilities.

A link to share your feedback online by October 16th is included with this story on our station website. You must provide your name and email before commenting.
